Lithium Testnet Update: August

Thank you for the overwhelming support for the Lithium Testnet! We are deeply grateful for the large number of insightful feedback from the community.

Here is a summary of updates we are implementing in August to make Lithium a better experience for you.

1. Basis of price estimates

Previously, we requested users to submit prices at which they are prepared to buy and sell an NFT. To help Price Experts consider NFT pricing more objectively, users are now invited to estimate (i) how much other traders would pay to buy and (ii) how much they think the owner would sell.

2. Traits information

One key feedback we have received is the importance of the NFT’s traits for Price Experts to consider its value. Traits information is now integrated into the pricing user flow. Price Experts will be seeing different versions of designs as we experiment and optimize implementations.

3. Data validation with the blockchain

Our server blocked some users from answering a Pricing Quest in situations where the user had previously attempted to submit an answer but the blockchain failed to process that submission.

We have now implemented technical upgrades to handle situations above by allowing users to cancel failed submissions and revalidate the final submission with the blockchain.

4. Loading state enhancements

Also related to network issues above, users will now see states of their submissions. We have also implemented a notification center to help users review these loading states and cancel a stuck transaction easily.

5. Metamask and network related issues

A number of users have reported slowness and transaction failure with the testnet. Our review indicated that was primarily due to performance and connectivity issues with certain Polygon Mumbai testnet RPC servers.

Thankfully, it could be easily resolved. Chainlist maintains a list of working Polygon Mumbai RPC. If you encounter network related issues, you may fix that by:
(i) remove Polygon Mumbai from Metamask
(ii) add Polygon Mumbai again on Chainlist

6. General bug fixes

Thanks again for helping us to identify issues such as email notification problems, unable to view results unless logged in, typos and misalignment of design elements. Please continue to let us know if you see any bugs.
